Our Newest Intern: Braxton Caudill

Article Written By Braxton Caudill:

Hello readers! I am so happy to announce that I have joined the Kentucky Taste Buds team as an intern this summer! I am excited to bring you some fun, entertaining and insightful information regarding all things amazing the Bluegrass state has to offer. I am originally from Versailles, Kentucky but have lived in Lexington for the past four years. My Mom was born and raised almost as far West as one can go within the state in Cadiz, KY. My Dad, on the other hand, was raised in Paintsville, deep in the Appalachian Mountains at the Eastern end of the state. Through my years growing up I have been incredibly blessed to continually travel across Kentucky visiting family, while simultaneously experiencing the vast and distinctly beautiful things that every nook and cranny has to offer. These places, food, drinks and experiences are exactly what I am honored to share with you over the next few months!

I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Integrated Strategic Communications and a minor in English. I was practically born a Kentucky fan, going to Football games since before I could talk, so repping the blue and white these past four years has been a dream come true! I do admit, finding my calling at the University was not always a walk in the park, but through the support of my family back home and my Greek life brothers of Beta Theta Pi, I was able to find my way. It was a crazy journey but I wouldn’t change a thing!

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, family and Springer Spaniel named Gunnar. I am a diehard “foodie” who loves trying any new and delicious food I can get my hands on (it’s a miracle I haven’t had to get a gym membership). I also love hiking, kayaking, playing golf and fishing. In a perfect world I would be able to spend every second fishing out of my 1989 Aluminum BassTracker. She's an oldie but a goodie!

Growing up in the birthplace of bourbon, just five minutes from Woodford Reserve, has created a passion for the industry and of course the drinks. One of my long term goals is to tour and taste at each of the stops on the Bourbon Trail.

Well, there you have it, a short and sweet rundown of who Braxton Caudill exactly is! I hope you will follow along with me in the near future as I explore this wonderful place accurately known as “My Old Kentucky Home”.
